Citronella Essential Oil

Citronella (Cymbopogon Nardus) is a perennial tall grass with tufts of narrow aromatic leaves. The name is derived from the French word Citronnelle, meaning “lemon balm”. It is native to tropical areas of Asia and is locally known as mana grass in Sri Lanka.

Citronella has been used in China and Indonesia for centuries in the treatment of infections, and rashes and to relieve rheumatic pain. It is actively used as a fundamental ingredient in insect repellents.

Citronella oil is an effective antifungal agent and is helpful against rashes and infections. It can also be used to alleviate muscle spasms.

As a diffuser oil, it helps to purify the air and relax the body and mind.
